The chemical firm Melamin - kemicna tovarna d.d. is located in the town of Kocevje in southeastern Slovenia, about sixty kilometers from Ljubljana. The factory was built in 1954 and currently employs 206 workers. Melamin became a joint stock company in 1996, and in 1997 its sales amounted to 3.2 billion tolars (35 million DEM), 55% of which were export sales, primarily to Western European markets. The company is comprised of three divisions:

Melamin has grown on the basis of the company’s own research and development. Our basic strategy and the guideline for our technological development is the constant ability to adapt to new customer needs and demands. In 1994, Melamin received the ISO 9001/EN 29001 Certificate of Quality and is currently in the process of obtaining the ISO 14001 Certificate of Environmental Management System. |
