Fabrics have been known to man for centuries. They offer protection and warmth, but to us they represent a challenge and a great love. Our knowledge ennobles them, gives them tenderness, elegance and self-confidence. This is why they are so full of energy and spirit. Surrender to the feeling and you will recognise them, for they live with you.

Our tradition of textile weaving stretches back to 1928 when the company started the annual production of a million metres of different kinds of fabric. The company has successfully adjusted to the needs of the market over the years. It currently produces approximately six million metres of fabric a year, 90% of which is exported to the most demanding markets of western Europe and the United States.

Today, Svila is one of the largest European producers of natural, artificial and synthetic fabrics.

Svila’s advantage lies in the fact that it possesses a complete range of production facilities, including weaving, dyeing and printing departments. The fabrics produced by the company can be divided into the following groups:

  • Fashionable printed and plain fabrics, intended mostly for women’s blouses and light suits. These fabrics are mostly 100% viscose, or a mixture of viscose and polyester, or viscose, linen and cotton. They are intended for demanding women who like to wear fashionable clothes and know the meaning of quality. These fabrics come in fashionable colours and printed patterns, and offer several possibilities for combining different single-colour and printed fabrics.

  • Fabrics for sports and leisure. These fabrics are 100% nylon or a mixture of nylon and cotton, nylon and viscose, or nylon, linen and cotton. They are intended for sportswear (e.g. track suits, ski and snowboarding wear) and leisurewear.

In 1998 the company introduced the Tina collection, a new line intended for the most demanding buyers of ready-to-wear women’s clothing and leisurewear. The Tina collection is the result of our own development and design, using innovative patterns, fashionable colours and high-quality fabrics. The collection is aimed at earning a name for our company’s high-quality products on the world market.

The company employs 350 workers and a team of highly qualified and experienced experts. In the sphere of applied research, it collaborates with the University of Maribor, incorporating research results into its production. It also maintains constant contacts with world producers of raw materials, dyes and fabric accessories. The company’s research unit participates in projects aimed at boosting technological development and accelerating the transfer of knowledge from science to commerce. Thanks to our modern equipment, we are able to fulfil the wishes of even the most demanding buyers.
