The automobile and trailer industry has had an important history in Novo mesto since it was started there by IMV in 1955. Different production programmes demanded the sectoring of the company into divisions. TPV, Trzenje in proizvodnja opreme vozil d.d. (Marketing and Production of Car Parts and Components) was established in 1989 with the splitting up of IMV. The initial range of delivery and specialised vehicles which TPV took over was not viable, and in the following years TPV redirected itself to the production of car parts and components, which represents the main part of the production range. The various technological and production capacities of the company, situated at three different locations, required the establishing of subsidiary companies, which today operate as separate production and commercial units. With 374 employees TPV achieves an annual turnover of 75 million DEM. The success of TPV as a producer of vehicle equipment was possible only through association with other recognised producers of vehicle equipment. International connections have already resulted in the founding of two joint-venture companies. The biggest subsidiary within the TPV deals with assembly of vehicle seats, and supplies the automobile manufacturer Revoz on a JIT delivery system basis. The other company produces metal seat frames. Apart from supplying the market with components from various European companies, TPV largely contributes in qualifying and promoting domestic suppliers. Additionally, TPV incorporates companies for the production of wire and pipe products, sheet metal stamping parts and welded pieces, light freight trailers and chassis for caravans. The concession for sale and servicing of Renault vehicles has also been a success. We can find TPV's products and semi-products in practically all European countries. |
