Until 1991, Maribor Insurance was a branch of Zavarovalnica Triglav (Triglav Insurance), which had its headquarters in Ljubljana. On January 1, 1991, Maribor Insurance became an independent joint-stock company (without foreign capital) and moved its head office to Maribor. In the seven years since, we have carried out radical organizational reforms that are still continuing, greatly modernized the range and forms of insurance we offer, and widened our presence throughout Slovenia. The benefits brought by these efforts to our clients, shareholders, business partners, and our more than 500 employees are now evident. Maribor Insurance has become the second largest insurance company in Slovenia, and the largest in the field of personal insurance where it is renowned for its service and provides additional social security for almost 15% of Slovenia’s citizens.
