Cool Carriers is together with its associated operations in Arctic Reefers and ECo Shipping, one of the world's largest operator of refrigerated vessels. The Cool Carriers´ base fleet of about 50-55 modern pallet reefer vessels between 350,000 - 760,000 cbft capacity, is operated in almost all major reefer trades world wide. The fleet is a well balanced mix of owned vessels, pool members as well as chartered vessels.

Skilled staff

Our staff, of about 100 employees, has very long experience of sea-borne transport of perishable goods such as fruit, vegetables, seafood and meat as well as various dry cargoes.

Detailed knowledge of our customers' needs - and their products - allows us to design transport systems that are a perfect match for their production methods.

The Leonina system

In the heart of Cool Carriers is the Leonina system, a partnership concept whereby ship owners supply high quality tonnage for all types of reefer cargoes. Cool Carriers in turn, operates the vessels, securing the best possible contracts for every vessel.

Market leaders

We have been able to lead the way to increased market shares for a number of customers. In many cases, we've provided access to to new export opportunities and new markets.

It was Cool Carriers who developed reefer transport in its modern form. We maintain a continuous development program for transport systems, including: ship design, cargo handling, cargo treatment and refrigeration equipment. Each and every system is customer-oriented.

Cool Carriers has its head office in Stockholm, Sweden and offices/cold stores in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Cape Town, South Africa, Nueva Palmira, Uruguay, Port Hueneme, Ca. and Wilmington, De., USA, Shanghai, China, Tokyo, Japan and Wellington, New Zealand.

Cool Carriers was founded in 1984, and is owned by Unicool Ltd. Bermuda. Unicool Ltd. was founded by Safmarine, South Africa (50%) and Leif Höegh & Co ASA, Oslo (49.8%).
