Whether exploring distant corners or riding across the land, our time in Iceland has helped us get to know the place. Our experience is a resource to save you time, money, and hassle, while guiding you to a fabulous vacation. Horses North has tours for any level of rider, from one day to two weeks - and a chance to explore a country which will delight all nature lovers. We know the land so we can explain the trips in detail, we know the horses so we can help you choose which tours are best suited to your skills, schedules and interests. The Icelandic horse, small and sure-footed, makes it easy for nearly any one to enjoy horse touring in this uniquely beautiful land. The horse's special gait, the Tolt, a "running walk", delights beginners with its easy movement and more advanced riders enjoy the speed and energy. There are lots of choices for a great vacation. From short rides based on farms (with hot tubs!) with hiking and fishing nearby, to rides that stay in scenic mountain huts, to trips across the highlands, Iceland can be the trip of a lifetime. There are a lot of interesting things to do in Iceland that we've found on our explorations - birding, whale watching, biking and rafting and we'll be happy to set up everything you need to see the most, and have the most fun before or after your riding tour. Guesthouses, hotels, and rental cars are all easy to set up as well. Just send an e-mail or make a toll-free phone call. We'll happily discuss riding and traveling in Iceland, so you can pick just the right trip in this magical land.
